Program Overview
Career Objectives:
- Complete a career goal card and essay yearly.
- Purpose is to be sure students are aware of careers available and the path needed to reach their career goals.
Program Highlights:
- Students learn to work on everything from weedwackers to motorcycles.
- Students can graduate certified by EETC in 4 stroke engines and can also earn their PA state inspection license.*
(*Must have valid driver’s license with endorsements (motorcycle) and be 18 years of age.)
Curriculum and Occupational Titles:
- The students will each go through the curriculum supporting the following:
Small engine technician
Motorcycle technician
Marine technician
Diesel
Grading:
- Syllabus for written class work and homework assignments will be provided.
- Students must follow safety rules.
- Students will also be assessed on their hands on performance and employability skills.

- WORK ETHIC 30%
- SKILLS 40%
Program Expectations:
- Upon successful completion of the Recreational Power Equipment program, students should be able to obtain and entry-level position in the industry as a small engine technician, motorcycle technician or marine technician.
Uniform/Clothing Requirements:
- Purchased at school:
safety glass ($5)
Power and Transportation cluster shirt ($15)
- Purchased elsewhere:
work pants ($15-$20)
work boots ($20-$30)
Program Fees:
- Activity fee ($20)
- Seniors will need $80 for 4 stroke certification test and $75 for state inspection.
Program Rules/Regulations:
- Must change into uniform within 5 minutes of arrival.
- Safety glasses must be worn at all times in the lab.
- Work area must be cleaned daily.
- No jewelry can be worn around hands or neck.
- Must follow NMTCC Code of Conduct.
