Program Overview
Career Objectives:
- Complete a career goal card and essay yearly.
- Purpose is to be sure students are aware of careers available and the path needed to reach their career goals.
Program Highlights:
- Students learn Computerized Numerical Control (CNC)
- CNC Machines:
HAAS (HAAS Control Programming and Simulators)
FANUC (Hardinge Programming in FANUC Control)
Curriculum and Occupational Titles:
- Toolmaker
- Machinist
- Machine Operator
- Quality Control Inspector
- CNC Programmer
- CNC Operator and set-up person
Grading:
- Students must follow safety rules.
- Students will also be assessed on their hands on performance and employability skills.

Program Expectations:
- Full-time employment in a climate controlled environment
- 40 hours/week with some overtime
Tools and Equipment Requirements:
- Pencil and 3-ring 1inch binder
- Second year student can purchase a tool starter kit: 0-1” micrometer, 0-6” dial caliper, and 6” ruler
Uniform/Clothing Requirements:
- Safety glasses
- Safety shoes
- Short sleeve shirt
- Long pants (jeans)
Program Fees:
- Activity fee ($20)
- Shop tools are provided.
Safety Requirements:
- Follow all safety rules and special instructions given
- Safety glasses must be worn at all times in the shop.
- Proper uniform is required when working in the shop.
- Must follow NMTCC Code of Conduct.
- Short sleeve shirt
- Long jean pants
- Leather shoes or steel-toed shoes
- No jewelry
- Hair tie to tie back long hair.
Portfolio Presentations:
- New updated resume every year
- NIMS certificates or others received
