Residential Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps/Split System Technician

Description: Course instruction will consist of lectures and shop practices for residential air conditioning, and basic heat pumps. At completion of this course the student will be able to troubleshoot successfully a home air conditioning unit. Class will cover basics of circuitry and troubleshooting of the control system as industry requires. Electrical devices are covered in detail in a systematic order with the troubleshooting of the components.
Requirements: Prerequisite: Basic Electricity. One textbook included for HVAC program - Safety equipment required.
Note: All adult students must present a Driver’s License or state-issued ID as part of the registration process. The ID will be scanned and screened for registered sex offenders. Participation in programs is contingent on the results of the screening.
