ARP ESSR III

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 provides Pennsylvania with $4.9 billion in emergency funding to support the long-term work of education recovery.  Under Act 24 or 2021, the Pennsylvania General Assembly and Governor Wolf allocated $135 million to intermediate units, career and technical education centers, school designated for Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (A-TSI), private residential rehabilitative institutes, approved private schools, chartered schools for the deaf and blind, and entities providing services for youth in local correctional institutions and community day programs.

The NMTCC proposed plan is focused on 3 Strategic Goals.  These goals address student learning loss and mitigation efforts due to the pandemic.  These goals will be implemented during the 2021-22 and the 2022-23 school year and are as follows:

NMTCC Strategic Goal 1:  Address technical learning loss by providing an extended school day cosmetology clinical and a Summer Skills Sharpening Camp for current students attending NMTCC.

NMTCC Strategic Goal 2:  Provide for a safe school environment by employing various mitigation strategies, including robust contact tracing, weekly Covid-19 Assurance testing, and additional student training stations equipped with single-user instructional items, hand tools, and devices in the CTE program labs.

NMTCC Strategic Goal 3:  Provide professional development & instructional coaching to CTE faculty focused on academic integration and mental health support strategies in order to improve students’ academic & technical skill attainment and overall student wellness resulting in increased student success earning NOCTI/NIMS certificates & program specific industry certifications and licenses that support alternative pathways to graduation.
