Students of the Month 2021-2022

May Students of the Month:

Mackenzie Ridge (Baking & Pastry Arts – Perkiomen Valley, 10th grade)

 

Mr. Polos, the Baking & Pastry Arts instructor, nominated Mackenzie because of her responsible and considerate behavior. Her strong work ethic and kindness to her classmates resonate in the lab when she is working with other students. Mr. Polos feels Mackenzie “would be a great fit for the student of the month.”

 

Noelle Emerson  (Cosmetology (PYAP) – Methacton, 10th grade)

Noelle is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Cosmetology program.  Noelle brings her positive attitude to the classroom and helps others gain their own confidence.  As a school officer for SkillsUSA, Noelle shares her ideas to help enhance students’ experiences while at North Montco. Her teacher, Mrs. Lucas, enjoys having Noelle in the classroom.

 

 

Zachary Fitzgerald  (Internet Technologies – North Penn, 12th grade)

Zachary is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Internet Technologies program. Mrs. Warren nominated Zachary to recognize his involvement at North Montco: student ambassador, SkillsUSA competitor (2nd place), SkillsUSA class representative. According to Mrs. Warren, “Zachary values his education at North Montco. He is very respectful and communicates well with classmates and teachers.”


April Students of the Month:

 

Giovanna LoPiccolo  (12th grade/PYAP/Methacton)

Giovanna is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Automotive program. Mr. Simes nominated Giovanna to acknowledge her involvement at North Montco. She has been working at a Dodge Dealer as a certified technician for over a year. According to Mr. Simes, “Giovanna is always willing to help anyone who needs it.” Giovanna competed at the SkillsUSA Automotive Technology competition, is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and  is a student ambassador.

 

Dax Hughes (10th grade/Calvary Baptist)

Dax is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Drafting & Design program.  According to his instructor, Mr. James, “Dax Hughes is an excellent student who is very motivated to do his best in class. He shows up just about every day with a new question. He is attentive in his daily work and is well organized with his study materials. Although Dax is not a native English speaker he strives every day to improve his language skills and learn the often difficult terminology of the trade.”


March Students of the Month:

 

Addison Zick (Methacton, 10th grade)

Addison is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Auto Collision Repair program and was nominated by Mr. Hunter, her instructor and Mr. Fluck, the Power and Transportation Instruction Technical Support Specialist. Addison always comes prepared for class and consistently follows the class rules. She thrives in the Auto Collision Repair lab and never hesitates to ask questions when needed. Mr. Hunter stated, “Addison is an excellent student. She is always prepared for class, earns straight A’s and is a National Technical Honor Society member.” Mr. Fluck stated that Addison’s leadership skills shine through in the class. She doesn’t hesitate to assist other students or get them engaged in the work to be done.

 

Angelina Smith (Pennfield, 9th grade)

Angelina is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Protective Services program. Mr. Mercon nominated Angelina because of her determination to tackle any challenge she may face. She continues to improve in the course and is motivated to advance as a student. Angelina’s willingness to become skilled at new study strategies will enable her to grow in this program.

 

 Nolan O’Connor (Perkiomen Valley, 12th grade)

Nolan is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Graphic Arts program. Ms. Poorman nominated Nolan because of his strong work ethic. As a student in his third year in the program, Ms. Poorman states that she “can always count on Nolan to be a student-teacher and have him demonstrate to other students how to operate equipment. He is always willing to help.”


February Students of the Month:

Aidan Jacobs (North Penn, PYAP)

 

Aidan is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Internet Technologies program and the Pennsylvania Youth Apprenticeship Program.

According to one of his academic teachers, Mrs. Schmidt, Aidan continues to show dedication to learning. He does not hesitate to ask for assistance or clarification and strives to complete his work early or on time and efficiently. He is currently working at North Penn High School in their IT department as his PYAP internship.

 

Addison McCoy (North Penn)

Addison is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Baking & Pastry Arts program.

 

When given a task, Addison successfully accomplishes it.  She has an impressive ability to retain information in the classroom. Her teacher, Mr. Polos, sees great potential in Addison and looks forward to teaching her more skills as she grows in the program.

 

Alexis Coleman (North Penn)

Alexis is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco’s Baking & Pastry Arts program.

Alexis has a strong work ethic according to her teacher, Mr. Polos.  She continues to improve her skills and responds well to constructive criticism. Strong attendance is crucial in this industry and her attendance is flawless. Alexis is a considerate person and well-liked by her classmates.

 


 

January Students of the Month:

Wyatt Nolan (Souderton Area High School) - 

Wyatt is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Automotive Technology program.

Mr. Alcaro, an automotive technology instructor, had this to say about Wyatt.

“Wyatt Nolan is an excellent student who is a pleasure to have in my auto class. He always gives one hundred percent in my class and goes above and beyond in his automotive studies. He is a self-starter and shows up daily.  Wyatt is enthusiastic about learning automotive and has a strong aptitude in the subject. If given the chance, he can learn anything and is willing to work hard.”

Isaac Means (Souderton Area High School) - 

Isaac is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Internet Technologies program.

According to Isaac’s Internet Technologies teacher, Mrs. Warren, “Isaac just received an internship at a local IT company. He was very motivated and completed the process in less than one week (resume, interview, etc.). He works at the service desk at Giant. He was promoted to this job in less than six months. He is very helpful in the classroom.”

 

Macey Coll (Souderton Area High School) - 

Isaac is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Health Sciences program.

Mrs. Orr, Macey’s Health Sciences teacher, had this to say about Macey:

“Macey is a leader in the classroom frequently taking the initiative to interact with other students, identifying things that the students can do to review the information during their breaks. Macey completes all of her assignments and has an overall grade of an A in the program this year. She is doing well in the College Level Medical Terminology program, frequently assisting other students with questions. Macey is also part of the National Technical Honor Society and works hard to maintain her grades, relationships with other students, and her professional attitude.”

 


 

 

December Students of the Month:

Cameron Clemens (Souderton Area High School) - 

Cameron is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Diesel Truck Technology program.

"Cam works from bell to bell and is always motivated to complete the task at hand, " said Mr. Meisenzahl, North Montco's Diesel Truck Technology teacher. "Cam is a big help with the other students, demonstrating and helping them with tasks."

 

Thomas Bridges (Wissahickon High School) - 

Thomas is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Culinary Arts program.

According to Mr. Cole, one of the Culinary Arts instructors, "Thom has been nothing short of outstanding since he joined the Culinary Arts department. His uniform is impeccable, assignment completion, lab readiness, and work ethic are unmatched. Thom has risen as a leader for his peers as well as his upperclassmen. He’s done this through a daily demonstration of commitment, excellence, a highly employable demeanor, and responsibility. Thom always helps out other students and does so with a quiet, yet confident demeanor. Thom is an exceptional example for the class and department as a whole."

 

Each month, Wissahickon High School selects Students of the Month in various areas including North Montco Technical Career Center. 

The Wissahickon High School/NMTCC Student of the month is Shawn Nardi.


November Students of the Month:

Anusua Chowdhury (North Penn High School)-

Anusua is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Mechatronics program.

According to the Mechatronics teacher, Mr. Potteiger, Anusua is confident in all technologies learned to date, has mastered control logic and circuit analysis and is very respectful to others.

 

Zachary Ridler (North Penn) - 

Zachary is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Mechatronics program.

According to the Mechatronics teacher, Mr. Potteiger, Zachary is self-motivated, asks questions for clarity and direction, embraces new technology, and actively participates in class.

 

Cierra Ruser (North Penn) - 

Cierra is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Baking & Pastry Arts program.

Mr. Polos, Cierra's teacher is proud of her accomplishments as a first- year student. He stated, "Cierra takes class incredibly seriously and comes prepared daily. She has a phenomenal work ethic and her skill set is strong." 

 

Cecilia (CeCe) Ryan (Souderton Area High School)

Cecilia is being recognized for outstanding work in North Montco's Cosmetology program.

Mrs. Lucas, one of the cosmetology instructors states, "CeCe is an awesome student! She is professionally driven. She volunteers to work on clients and even brings in her own clients. The other students go to CeCe for her expertise. I enjoy having her in my class." CeCe also participates in track, and color guard with her sending school.

October Students of the Month:

 

Jordan Joseph (Perkiomen Valley High School) - 

Jordan is being recognized for his outstanding work in North Montco’s Automotive Technology program.

“Jordan has been a student in the North Montco Automotive program since 9th grade,” said Mr.Simes, one of North Montco’s Automotive Technology teachers. “His hard work, positive attitude, and higher-level thinking make him a perfect candidate for this award.”

 

Vanessa Morrison (Souderton Area High School) - 

Vanessa is being recognized for her outstanding work in North Montco’s Allied Health program. We previously highlighted Vanessa as she shared her experiences with her classmates in the Protective Services program.

 

“When asked to share her experiences with other students, Vanessa did not hesitate, “ said Ms. Bossert, North Montco’s Allied Health teacher. “Her focus on her career path has made her an asset to the school and to the Allied Health program.”

 

Each month, Wissahickon High School selects Students of the Month in various areas including North Montco Technical Career Center.
