Dear Parent/Guardian:
We are excited to welcome your child as an 11th grade student into the 2024-25 PYA2P (full-time program) at North Montco Technical Career Center (NMTCC). This is a work-based program and students must secure a job placement related to their technical program by August 30, 2024, to participate with a PYA2P schedule.
The school year will begin for all PYA2P junior students on Tuesday, August 27, regardless of their sending high school start date, and they should report to their place of employment that day. On Wednesday, August 28, students should report to NMTCC, room 175 (across from the nurse’s suite) by 8:10 a.m. Parking permits are required to park on campus The application for a parking pass is included in this mailing.
11th grade students participating in the PYA2P program will spend Monday and Tuesday each week at their place of employment, and Wednesday through Friday at NMTCC for their academic and technical program classes. If your child does not have a job, they will report to NMTCC on August 27, 2024, and meet with their program counselor to confirm employment or plan to return to the sending school for the academic courses and attend NMTCC as a PM session student.
All PYA2P students must have an approved work placement by August 30, 2024. Once this work placement is secured,
Mr. Ed Trbuza, Co-Op Coordinator, will inspect the work site and prepare the required paperwork which must be signed and returned to NMTCC. If your child has questions regarding employment, or would like to complete the necessary paperwork for the work placement, please contact Mr. Trbuza at etrbuza@nmtcc.org or 215-368-1177 x.130.
An exciting new component to our PYA2P program is the opportunity to participate in dual enrollment classes with Montgomery County Community College. The course will begin in the spring semester and all information regarding enrollment and participation will be provided to students in the first few weeks of school. Dual enrollment is not mandatory, but is an option to pursue college credits in preparation for your child’s continued post-secondary and/or employment pursuits.
We look forward to providing a rewarding educational experience for your child. Please contact NMTCC at 215-368-1177 if you have any inquiries or questions.
Sincerely,
Beth Ann Haas, Ed.D.
