A Family Legacy: From North Montco Students to Industry Leaders
North Montco Technical Career Center is more than just a place to learn—it’s a foundation for lifelong success, strong careers, and even family legacies. For Denean and Angelo Petriello, North Montco played a key role in their journey, shaping their futures and now inspiring the next generation.
Denean studied Cosmetology at North Montco and graduated in 1996. She began working at LaMirage Salon in Lansdale immediately after graduation—and 33 years later, she’s still there, continuing to make an impact in the industry.
Her husband, Angelo, pursued Architectural Drafting at North Montco, where he excelled in VICA (now SkillsUSA) competitions and was a member of the National Technical Honor Society. After graduation, he ran his father’s masonry business for many years. Today, he is the General Manager of Transfleet Concrete Co. of Collegeville, applying his technical education to lead in the construction industry.
Denean and Angelo, both 1996 graduates, married in 2001 and have built a life rooted in career and technical education. This year, their youngest son, Dante, joined North Montco’s Culinary Arts program, continuing the family’s North Montco legacy.
North Montco connections run even deeper—Denean’s brother graduated from the Autobody program in 1999, and LaMirage Salon, where Denean has worked for over three decades, is owned by Kellie, a 1981 North Montco graduate. Kellie has supported North Montco for years, with eight former students now working at her salon, showcasing the ongoing impact of technical education in the community.
From students to professionals, and now mentors, Denean and Angelo’s story is a testament to the power of career and technical education.
