EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN
North Montco Technical Career Center has an emergency management plan in place that is continuously updated. In the event of an emergency, you should be aware of the following:
- Depending on the scale and type of the emergency, school district plans and/or local, county and state emergency management agencies will provide direction to the school.
- Statistically, schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. In the event of an emergency, we will not dismiss children until we can assure their safety. We are prepared to provide supervision, food, bottled water and shelter.
- If it is necessary to evacuate our students, they may be transported to another school within the district or to a community building designated in our emergency management plan.
- If we are informed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management agency of a threat where there would be enough time to get students home safely to be with their families, we will have an early dismissal. If this situation should occur, parents are requested not to come to school to pick up their children. Extra vehicles in the school driveway and parking lot would only serve to slow the dismissal process down and could even hinder our efforts to get everyone home in a safe and timely manner. Parents are urged to wait for their children at home or at their child’s bus stop. If you do not have a contingency plan for where your children should go in cases when you may not be home before they arrive from school, we suggest you quickly begin to put one in place.
We will do our utmost to keep your child safe. We ask that you also talk to your child about the importance of following the instructions of adults and keeping calm. With everyone’s cooperation, we can provide as safe of an environment for your child as possible.
