Providing a safe learning environment is of the utmost importance. On staff to help provide this safe
learning experience is our School Police Officer – Officer Mark O’Donnell who leads our security team.
We have three career counselors Mrs. Fleisher, Mrs. O’Brien and Mr. Paddock to help students plan for
careers and post-secondary plans. We also have four special education case managers. Every program has
one case manager assigned to support students in that program. In addition, we have teaching assistants to
help co-teach and support student learning. For any medical concern, we have an on-site nurse to care for
our students.
Slide 4
Our school is home to 24 programs and is mainly one level with the exception of a second floor on one
end of the building where our health science programs are located. We have a security team that monitors
the entrances, hallways and surrounding property. We have a small activity fee of $35 for each student
which supports their participation in our career and technical student organization, SKills USA.
Transportation is handled by your district.
We can help you connect with your district but we do not make decisions about or coordinate
transportation. Each district has specific arrival and dismissal times. Our day has three sessions. Your
program level and district determine what session you are in. Your teacher will thoroughly explain the
schedule to you when you attend class. Your counselors and the main office can also answer any
questions you might have about your schedule. You were given the opportunity to choose your program.
Please ensure this is a program you wish to attend.
Some of you were placed in your second choice because your first choice was full. If you are
reconsidering, please reach out to us for other possible options.
Slide 5
We have our own code of student conduct, rules, and regulations independent of your district. Please
familiarize yourself with the handbook and the rules. ID badges must be in your possession at all times.
New students will have their photo taken when the new year begins. Excuse notes must also be brought
into North Montco. So please make a copy of the note to hand into us or contact us to provide a reason for
your child’s absence. Our programs are highly engaging and prepare you for the real world. We require
good behavior, attendance and grades to be successful. Retention criteria are applied to all students for
maintaining placement at North Montco. The retention criteria are indicated in the handbook. Please
ensure all school and program required forms are filled out, signed and returned. Some forms will be able
to be completed online. Please log in to your parent portal for a set of forms to be reviewed and
electronically signed for your child to participate in their program at North Montco. Please read all
information and policies before signing the forms. Student lunches are provided for full-time PYAP
students only. All other students will eat lunch at their sending school.

We strive to communicate as much as possible and in as many ways as possible. We all have very busy
lives, but please find time to check our website, social media, parent portal and your email for important
communication about our school events, student absences, weather closings, emergencies, and various
surveys. We use the following methods to communicate.
our automated phone/email system, Our Website nmtcc.org, our social media accounts
and our student and parent portals.
The links for these can be found on our school website. These Portals are not active until September.
Please keep your Email Addresses and contact information accurate and up to date in our system.
We use the information provided on your child’s Emergency and Medical Cards to communicate with
you and notify if there is an emergency.

The programs of study offered at North Montco follow a statewide curriculum. Your instructor will give
you a copy of this curriculum, which is a task list that outlines the knowledge and skills you will learn.
Every three years, business and industry representatives review this task list to ensure that what you learn
at North Montco is what our employers need in today’s workforce.
Your program also provides opportunities for you to earn valuable industry certifications and licenses.
One certification, which is NOCTI is a national, program specific exam that you will take during your
senior year and will test what you have learned at North Montco
At North Montco we have built career pathways so our students can go right to work or on to college or a
technical school. We have agreements with our college partners where what you learn in North Montco
translates into earned college courses, which saves both time and money. We also have strong
partnerships with local employers who hire our students and provide paid work experiences, called Co-
Op. This means as a high school student, you can get paid while attending North Montco and as you
practice and develop your technical skills.
We also have student organizations that allow you to practice your leadership skills and to compete in
skills competitions and participate in community services.
Slide 8
Part of student learning at NMTCC is participation in work-based learning and student-run enterprises.
Our school provides real-world experience through our Restaurant, bakery, and salon, all of which are
open to the public. Please see our website for operating hours.
