CDL - Online CDL Training For Entry Level Drivers (ELDT)
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FM CSA) new entry-level driver training (ELDT) rule took effect on February 7, 2022. Under the new rule, entry-level drivers (drivers who are applying for an initial CDL, upgrading a current CDL, or obtaining hazardous materials, passenger, or school bus endorsement) must successfully complete a prescribed program of theory and behind-the-wheel instruction prior to taking the CDL test. NMTCC is a FMCSA training provider.

CDL Behind-the-Wheel
Start Date: Lessons will be scheduled as required. Scheduled 7 days a week.
Description: Drivers who are applying for an initial CDL, upgrading a current CDL, or obtaining hazardous materials, passenger, or school bus endorsement must successfully complete a prescribed program of theory and behind-the-wheel instruction prior to taking the CDL test. NMTCC is a FMCSA training provider.
On-the-road training for Class A or B vehicles -shifting, backing, night driving, skills maneuvers, and road test requirements will be covered.Cancellation of driving appointments must be made 24 hours in advance or the time will be deducted from the student's remaining driving time.
Class A (25 hours minimum) Fee: $3,750.00
Class B (20 hours minimum) Fee: $3,000.00
Refresher (15 hours minimum) Fee: $2,250.00
Additional hours (exceeding minimum package) Fee: $150.00 per hour
Requirements: Three-year driver abstract, PA CDL permit required.

CDL Skills and Road Test
Description: North Montco's third-party testing site is certified by the PA Department of Transportation to administer the CDL skills and road test. Tests may be scheduled in your vehicle or for those students who have completed the 15-hours behind-the-wheel; one of North Montco's trucks is available for a fee. Current DOT medical card and valid permit for class of vehicle required.

CDL Truck Driver Training I (Class A)
CDL Truck Driver Training I (Class A)
Description: This program is designed to prepare students with the skills to pass the requirements of the PA Commercial Driver's license test. Requirements for Class A permit include the following endorsements: air brakes, hazmat, tanker, passenger and double/triple trailers. In-vehicle pre-trip inspection and skills maneuvers are demonstrated and practiced. Range exercises include basic shifting, brake adjustments, and backing maneuvers. Additional emphasis on hours of service, coupling/uncoupling, trip planning, and D.O.T. regulations with up to 45 hours behind-the-wheel of instructor/student driving one-on-one. The CDL skills and road test is included since NMTCC is a Third Party testing site. Cancellation of driving appointments must be made 24 hours in advance or the time will be deducted from the student's remaining driving time.
Requirements: Textbooks included - Three-year driver abstract,, PA CDL learner permit required for behind-the-wheel lessons.

Note: All adult students must present a Driver’s License or state-issued ID as part of the registration process. The ID will be scanned and screened for registered sex offenders. Participation in programs is contingent on the results of the screening.
