    POSITION TITLE: NETWORK ENGINEER

     

    REPORTS TO:         ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

    WORK YEAR:         12 MONTH   (Immediate Opening)

     

    JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTABILITY:  Responsible for the network infrastructure, hardware, and connections, including the design and deployment of new/updated network services. Provide technical support, training and troubleshooting; support networks, network connections, and managed services.  Supervising IT Department technical staff.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor degree (preferred) in Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus; at least 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess industry recognized related certifications, excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations, including data, voice (VoiP), videos and wireless network services
    • Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation
    • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
    • Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
    • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
    • Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required
    • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures
    • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems
    • Monitoring and reporting network performance
    • Defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
    • Maximizing performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades
    • Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software
    • Managing physical and logical access to organization data centers, network equipment, and connection points
    • Providing technical support for enterprise systems and networks
    • Managing and coordinating schoolwide cabling and wiring projects
    • Managing and coordinating cabling and wiring projects at all district locations
    • Assisting with the creation and execution of technical bids and service contracts
    • Serving as liaison with technical vendors, contractors, consultants, and service providers
    • Coordinating and maintaining directory services (Active Directory)
    • Providing on-site and remote technical support; providing emergency on-call support for on-site and remote technical issues as needed
    • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
    • Additional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

  • PART-TIME EVENING SECURITY OFFICER / CUSTOMER SERVICE REP

    North Montco Technical Career Center is seeking a PART-TIME SECURITY OFFICER / CUSTOMER SERVICE REP for two evenings per week for the Continuing Education Office. 

     

    Rate of Pay is:  $15-18 per hour based on experience

     

    Responsibilities:

    -  Conduct regular building rounds and general security observations

    -  Secure outside doors and building at end of classes

    -  Make certain that the facility is secured at the end of evening and building alarm is set

    -  Call 911 regarding emergencies requiring fire, police, or ambulance

    -  Maintain and distribute communication radio for all instructors

    -  Enforce school policies regarding parking, student accessibility to classrooms, and procedures to ensure the safety of instructional equipment and supplies

    -  Answer phones and address walk-in client questions, as needed.

    -  Collect tuition payments as needed and secure all funds collected on a nightly basis

    - Provide direction to all instructors with respect to safety, building operations, exit procedures, and program needs
