Driver's Education Classes

The North Montco Technical Career Center (NMTCC)was recently certified by the state as a Pennsylvania Driver's Licensing Exam site. Students who attend both the Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel Drivers Training Program, at NMTCC, are eligible to take the actual Pennsylvania Drivers Licensing Exam at the school.

The classroom theory consists of 30 hours of instruction provided by certified teachers at NMTCC. Classes are scheduled after-school, in the evening and during the summer for students who are approaching their 16th birthday. Students who are 18 or over and are full time students are required to have a permit.

Behind-the-Wheel training consists of 6 hours of actual driving instruction in dual-controlled cars provided by NMTCC. The Drivers Licensing Exam is given during the 6th hour. Eligible students must be 16 years or older, have obtained their learner's permit or license and successfully completed the 30 hours of classroom theory at NMTCC or any other PDE approved location.

The Drivers Licensing Exam is given to full time students who have not graduated from high school.
